Then and Now Guipure, what’s your score???

It’s OFFICIAL……. The Guipure lace is the “IT” trend for 2014. It cuts across all fashion facets. They can be worn for weddings by Brides & Bridesmaids, worn for dinners and corporate events, or worn as “Aso-Ebi”. This trend is a fashion come-back as it has been trendy since the 80’s and 90’s. Back then, they were worn as traditional attires for weddings and other events. They have always been known as Guipure. However, erroneously pronounced as “kupion”…..lol

The word guipure originates from the old French word guiper (to cover with silk) and it was first used as the term ‘guipure lace’ in France around 1843. Guipure is pronounced gi-pyur. It has a cute peek-a-boo look with exotic embroidery stiches often raised into a 3D pattern.

This post will focus on creative and beautiful ways to rock the trend for “Owambe” events.

Watch out for the next post as you linger on these questions……

What have you done with the Guipure?

How many jaws have you dropped with your Guipure?

How have you rocked the Guipure to that corporate event, Office or dinner?
